Birthdate: July 28, 1966
Birth Place: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Family: My husband Ross, no kids but Ross and I have 8 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, and one more great is currently on the way.

Personal strengths: I can be very focused (and stubborn), and I love to study and learn about things that interest me.
Personal weaknesses: I have way too many interests! I sometimes can put too much on my plate.
Reason for joining Northstar: I am a big fan of being part of a supportive running community and Nothstar is true to those values. The last few years I have had some injuries and health issues so I have not been out as much as I would have liked to be. I am grateful that the community is still as welcoming and supportive as ever. I am looking forward to spending more time on the roads with everyone.
Favorite running shoes: I am running in Altra Escalante shoes. I am trying to stay with a zero drop shoe but I find I do need some cushioning under my feet so the Escalantes have been working for me.
Favorite place to run: I have a strange attachment to the path around Lake Nokomis from so many years of running endless loops around the lake during the FANS race. I like really any path from which I can see water.
Running Goals:
- Short-term: Continue to be able to build on my current base and stay injury free.
- Long-term: Build up enough to continue on my quest to run a marathon in all 50 states.

Proudest Running Achievement: My personal best at FANS was in June of 2012. I ran 84.65 miles.
Typical training week, a month or two before a major race: I will say that at this point I have nothing I can point to as "typical" training leading up to a race because my last race was in 2019.
Running idol: Terry Fox. When I was 13, I was lucky enough to see Terry at the end of a long summer day running his way out of Toronto on his Marathon Of Hope.
Injuries: I have had several injuries to my right achilles tendon, which is part of the reason the last 10 years have been full of stops and starts for me and my training.

PRs:
- Marathon PR: 4:29:05
- Half-Marathon PR: 2:08:41
- 25K PR: 2:42:20
- 10 Mile PR: 1:36:15
- 10K PR: 55:11
- 5K PR: 26:41
- 1 Mile PR: I have never done this distance in a race. I did a few time trials and I think my best was around 7:30
Anything else interesting you'd like to share? 4.5 years ago I finished my treatment for a stage 3 cancer. It was a long journey back to strength and vitality. I am grateful that these days I feel like my old self again.
Non-running Hobbies: So many hobbies. I love SCUBA diving and underwater photography, skiing, sewing, reading, cooking, jigsaw puzzles. I love languages. I study French and Italian.
